I wouldnt do much in your neck of the woods at the moment. Is the 20 acre lake old, shallow, and nutrient loaded? If it isnt than I wouldnt worry too much. The habitat has to be just right to grow lots of watermeal to nuisance levels in a larger bod

Well, I had some huge winds tear through my neck of the woods tonight. The only damage was to the outdoor water solutions windmill... It did not take the wind well and is pretty much totaled. I'm thinking that I am going to be better served breaki

Another thing is, it appears you are dealing with a surface spring, (shallow spring that is dependent on water table levels) so it could actually work in reverse in that it could suck water out of the pond. This happens when the water pressure of the

So a contact herbicide is effective in eradicating watermeal? Obviously Whitecap or Sonar AS would be cost prohibitive and probably overkill for a 20 acre lake with a few small patches of watermeal. So you say bring out the arsenal NOW instead of wai

I am in the building industry, and have to agree with Rainman. If you want to seal it, and you should, you will have to deal with darker wood. Messmers, and Cabot's Australian timber oil are good exterior hardwood oils. My favorite though is Penofin

Should I aerate?
Jump to new posts Re: Aeration and polluted water by Haplo Man @ Today at 05:11 PM

Sure it could, depending on the type of fountain it is. Is it a can motor with a prop? Vertical or horizontal motor configuration? Does it have an intake tube located right above the pond bottom? How much flow / pumpage are you looking at? What kind

Re: raising the water level above the siphon by happyattack @ Today at 04:55 PM

I was just wondering if it could be an option. I would like having 2 high water levels(the option). With our summers we can have a water drop of up to 3 feet. I could open the siphon anytime I wanted to during high water. I just got my siphon inst

Latitude is 41.295N. The longitude is -86.625W. There are reproducing populations of both in the local lakes, although the ponds are shallower than the local lakes.

You may want to get the water checked. If it is an O2 problem it happens fast not over several years.

I think the smaller ones that aren't as colorful look dead(or deader) which, if I am right, account for the different color. Yeah Eric, I also wondered a little about the largest one. It's more of a shape issue than color.
