Just bought property with a pond.Pond is just under 2 acres Pond is over 30 years old if the trees on the dam are any indication. The dam has no drain. The water is flowing from a three foot deep trench that has washed out across the dam. Someone had put several cinderblocks at the bottom of the trench at the center of the dam. The cinder blocks formed a waterfall action that carved a hole from the midpoint of the dam down at least six feet and a deep trench out the back of the dam. I am concidering a siphon drain that could be laid into the channel that already exists. It would allow me to drain the water from the deep part of the pond which i am told is over 12 feet as it is now.
One of my concerns is that no one lives on the property and it is very remote. I need a system that kids or vandals can not rig to drain my pond or damage with gunshots. Mabe a hidden vacume breaker or two. Any advice for this newbe would be appreciated.

The dam is along the left side of the picture. You can see the trench cut out from the waterflow. Pond could easly be 2 feet deeper with dam repair.
