Editor’s Letter Swinging into Summer By Bob Lusk
Onward and upward! In this issue, there are several topics you’ll want to absorb, so to speak. Feature 1 is “Bay’s Lake”. That article is the first of a series to explain about one of my new favorite lakes. It produces way more fish than it should, with good quality. You’ll want to tag along on that ride because you’ll learn what makes great lakes great. As you suspect, it’s a combination of things. Dovetailing into that is the next part of a series about Slab Lab’s recovery. It’s all about the muck. Dig deep into the science behind remediation. Sure, we got all the regular stuff, too. Wes Neal tells us about southern walleye. Yep, it’s true. They’re fairly rare, but they exist. Dan V snaps up some suburban beavers with a balancing act of public relations. I raise the hood on the private equity phase of the pond management industry. Things are changing, and it looks like they’ll change again. Welcome to Bryan Farquhar, veteran fisheries biologist cuts to his chase about aquatic plant value in fishing lakes. And, a big welcome to you! So glad you are a member of the Pond Boss extended family. I saw a long time ago, that folks who read these pages have a lot in common. We love our land, we love our water, and we love the wildlife that comes and goes through it. We love stewardship and making things better. Hats off to you! Let’s swing into summer and make it the best one, ever.
A series dedicated to Bob Lusk's general musings about land, water and life. |
